1. Who we are
Blakey Trades is operated by Kyle Airey, a sole trader based in England, trading as Blakey Trades ("we", "us", "our"). For the purposes of UK GDPR, Kyle Airey is the data controller for information collected through the app and this website.

2. What we collect
| Category | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address, display name, initials, sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email) | Create and secure your account |
| Journal and notes | Trade entries you log yourself (pair, direction, P/L, notes, tags), closed-trade rows read from any MT5 screenshot you choose to import, and standalone plain-text notes with their type, tags, and optional link to one of your trades | Power your private trading journal and notes workspace. It is not displayed to other members or included in staff engagement analytics. |
| Support chat | The messages you send to Ask Aria and recent conversation context | Generate a reply, support an escalation, and help with abuse, safety, and quality review. Authorised staff may access relevant support exchanges on a need-to-know basis. |
| Age & agreement | Your confirmation that you are 18 or over, and when you accepted these terms | Meet our 18+ eligibility rule and evidence consent |
| Device | Push notification token, app version, device type | Send you call reminders and economic news alerts |
| Usage & engagement | First-party app activity linked to your account: screens opened, time in the app, education and call-recording watch progress, announcement and story views, monthly-challenge answers, check-ins, glossary lookups, learning-path progress, and when you open Ask Aria. We do not send your private journal entries, standalone note title/body/tags, paper-trade book, or MT5 import details into this analytics store. | Keep the product working, apply fair-use limits on AI features, show your own progress, and help authorised staff improve education and community content |
| Quiz scores | Your daily quiz answers, points, rank, and a shortened display name on the in-app leaderboard (typically first name and last initial) | Run the practice quiz and show the skill leaderboard to members |
The app has no member chat, community feed, or direct messages, so we do not collect any of that. It also contains no trade signals or trading recommendations. Telegram is an optional, separate third-party service; anything posted there is outside this app and is governed by Telegram's own privacy policy.
3. Staff access to engagement analytics
Blakey Trades is a members-only education community. A small number of authorised staff (moderators and super-admins, not ordinary coaches) can open an in-app Member analytics dashboard. That dashboard can show:
- Aggregate activity (for example daily active members, total video opens, announcement views)
- Named member engagement for content ops, for example display name, time active, which education videos or announcements were opened, and similar product events listed in §2
Lawful basis (UK GDPR): this processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the education product and community, specifically making sure content works, supporting members who are stuck, and keeping the service safe. It is not used for advertising, resale, or profiling outside the app. Opening a named member drill-down is logged in an internal staff audit trail.
Your private trading journal, paper-practice book, and standalone notes are not displayed to other members and are not included in staff engagement analytics. Support exchanges are handled separately as described in §§2 and 5.
4. What we do not collect
We never ask for, store, or have access to your broker password or login, and we have no connection to your brokerage. We cannot view, place, or manage trades on your behalf, and we never receive live account data from any broker.
One important exception to be clear about: if you use the MT5 screenshot import, the screenshot you choose to upload is an image of your own trading history, and it will typically show closed positions, prices, volumes and profit or loss. That image is processed as described in §5 and the extracted rows are saved to your private journal. The image is sent transiently for parsing and is not saved in a Blakey Trades storage bucket after the request completes; the external vision provider's own terms and retention controls still apply. You are never required to use this feature; you can always add trades manually instead.
5. AI features and the providers behind them
Two features work by sending content to third-party AI providers that process requests on our behalf or under their own service terms, depending on the route:
- Ask Aria: your message and the recent conversation are sent to a large-language-model provider to generate a reply.
- MT5 screenshot import: the screenshot you upload is sent to a vision model that reads the trade rows out of it.
We currently route these requests through OpenRouter (which may forward a request to an underlying model provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, NVIDIA, DeepSeek, Amazon, or another provider available in the configured route), and through direct Mistral AI and NVIDIA routes when enabled. The exact route can change when a provider is unavailable. We select routes intended for service-only processing and no model training where that option is available, but provider terms, retention settings, and the selected route govern; we do not promise a universal no-training or no-retention result across every underlying provider. Some providers may process data outside the UK and EEA. Before enabling a restricted international transfer, we must record a lawful transfer basis and appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. We do not attach your name or email to these requests.
Safety response: if Ask Aria detects direct language suggesting that someone may harm themselves or is in immediate danger, the server returns a fixed crisis-support message before the text is sent to an AI provider. The sensitive wording is redacted from our ordinary support log and is never forwarded to a model or to a broker; the response directs the person to local emergency services, a trusted human, and FindaHelpline. Ask Aria is not an emergency or medical service.
To let an authorised member of our support team follow up on a genuine safety concern, we keep a small, restricted safety record for these events. It holds the account identifier, your display name and email address (used only to reach you about this one concern), a link to the incident, and the crisis wording itself. It is stored separately from your journal and notes, is readable only by authorised staff, and is never shown to other members. When such an event is triggered, a privacy-masked alert (masked email, display name, and the wording) is sent to a private staff-only channel so a trained human can respond. We co-ordinate with emergency services only if you or the information you provide indicates that a person is in immediate physical danger and we have enough to make that call.
Do not enter passwords, card details, or other sensitive personal information into Ask Aria. If you would rather nothing left the app, do not use these two features. Everything else works without them.
6. Who we share data with
- Supabase: our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure provider (data processor). Supabase stores your account and app data on our behalf.
- Cloudflare: hosts and serves the app's web content; processes connection data such as your IP address for delivery and security.
- Expo: delivers push notifications to your device; receives your device push token only.
- OpenRouter and its selected model providers, Mistral AI, NVIDIA: AI processing for the two features described in §5. The selected underlying provider can change when a route is unavailable.
- Apple / Google: if you sign in with Apple or Google, they act as your identity provider under their own privacy terms.
- Telegram: our optional external community/support service. If you contact us there, that conversation is governed by Telegram's privacy policy, not ours.
These companies are third-party service providers/data processors for the purposes described above; they are not a hidden audience or advertising network. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account, profile, journal, standalone notes, and progress for as long as your account is active. Notes remain private and are deleted with the account through the same account-deletion flow; deleting a linked trade only clears the link and does not delete the note. Ask Aria exchange records may be retained while the account is active for support, quality, safety, and abuse-prevention purposes. Engagement analytics events (the usage data in §2–§3) are retained for up to 90 days, then deleted automatically. Daily AI usage counters are retained for up to 30 days for abuse prevention, then deleted. Safety records described in §5 are retained for no more than 30 days unless an incident is still being resolved, then purged automatically. If you delete your account (see our Account Deletion page), the deletion service recursively enumerates and removes your member-owned storage objects before removing the account; if that purge cannot be verified, deletion stops and the account remains available to retry. Limited backups, security/audit records, lawful-retention records, anonymised leaderboard ledgers, and copies held by an AI provider may persist for the periods described in this policy or the provider's terms.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data (editable in-app under Settings → Profile)
- Request deletion of your account and associated active data at any time, subject to limited lawful or security retention described in this policy
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we've mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, email kyle.airey@hotmail.com.
9. Children
Blakey Trades is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Financial market content is not appropriate for minors.
10. Security
Access to your data is protected by row-level security at the database layer. Your journal and standalone notes are private to your account, are not displayed to other members, and are excluded from staff engagement analytics. Ask Aria support exchanges are not visible to other members but may be read by authorised staff for the support, safety, abuse, and quality purposes described in §§2 and 5, and are sent to the AI providers described there. Engagement analytics are readable only by the authorised staff roles described in §3, via secured staff APIs, not by other members. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
